The more than seven hundred year old city
with its nearly closed preserved medieval core is as southerly
end and climax of the famous "Romantic Road" internationally
known and is framed by the peaks of the Ammergauer and
Tannheimer Alps, from Allgäuer green hills and numerous
picturesque lakes.
The core city is a Kneipp foot spa
prädikatisiert, the districts have their own green Predicates:
Bad Faulenbach is a mineral and Moorheilbad especially for the
therapy of postural and locomotor a good address, hop on the
lake district is a Kneipp and Luftkurort recognized Weißensee
and as a resort.
Attractions: Füssener historic Old Town with
its late medieval town houses, magnificent baroque churches and
the almost Italian flair to their seats and fountains, the
former Benedictine monastery of St. Mang, with its Basilica and
the Museum of the City of Füssen, the castle with high branch
gallery of the Bavarian State Painting Collections.
Cultural highlights are on the doorstep: the
royal castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau (4 km),
Schloß Linderhof (40 km), the Wieskirche (29 km) and many other
famous churches in Pfaffenwinkel.
